    Job Description

We now need a results-driven Senior Specialist, K-12 Theater to join our school community

    Reporting to the Head of K-12 Scholar Talent, the Senior Specialist, K-12 Theater will be a results-driven professional looking to use strong organizational and project management skills and their rich content knowledge to support current and future content design, program evaluation, and upscaling teacher talent.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • To plan, conceptualize, edit, and write a rigorous and relevant theater curriculum as part of a multi-year theater program centered on a rich theater pedagogy in the K-12 educational settings, under the direction of Leader, K-12 Visual and Performing Arts.
    • Includes all necessary lesson materials, lesson plans, and curricula for units of our courses that are aligned to the internal vision for theater education at Success Academy;
    • Alignment of the curriculum to the National Standards.
    • Ensure content is of high quality by working with schools and leaders, tracking content performance, and modifying content based on quantitative data and qualitative feedback from on-site observation.
    • In partnership with school-based Scholar Talent Leads, observe lessons and analyze student work and data to ensure content is implemented across our network of schools with a high level of fidelity; these observations and critical study of scholar work will be used to develop the practice of our Performing Arts teachers.
    • In partnership with the manager, lead content and pedagogy specific teacher training sessions.
    • Support key cross-content Scholar Talent initiatives and program needs including partnering with Operations on event and club planning and logistics, partnering with Talent Acquisition on teacher hiring, and partnering with school based leaders on Scholar Talent teacher performance management.
    • Execute team processes and project guidelines, and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.

    A successful applicant will have the following skills, characteristics, and values:

    • Demonstrated content knowledge expertise in a field of theater;
    • Previous theater education experience and a history of a high performing program;
    • Extraordinarily high standards for students and one’s own work product;
    • Hold at least a B.F.A of B.A in theater;
    • Talent in logistics and project management;
    • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills;
    • Extremely strong writing and proofreading skills;
    • Strong work ethic and ability to work flexibly;
    • Comfort with ambiguity and enthusiasm for experimentation;
    • Passion for education and knowledge of the National Standards.

    Compensation Range

    Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
